Preet Dhaliwal earned her Juris Doctor at the University of Victoria, Faculty of Law in 2020. While pursuing her law degree, she volunteered with the Pro Bono Students Canada and took advantage of the experiential learning opportunities that the University of Victoria has to offer by participating in The Law Centre Program. These programs aim to improve access to justice in the local communities while building invaluable and practical skills for law students. During her term at The Law Centre, Preet appeared before the Provincial Court and successfully represented her clients in Criminal and Family law matters. Preet was also elected as the Health and Wellness Representative for the University of Victoria Law Students’ Society.
Prior to pursuing her legal education, Preet obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of the Fraser Valley and a Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia. She taught at a secondary school in Abbotsford, BC for three years as a Business teacher.
Being passionate about helping others in her community, Preet volunteered for numerous community organizations, including the Abbotsford Restorative Justice and Advocacy Association and the Abbotsford Community Services. Preet’s strong connections to the Fraser Valley allows her to continue giving back and getting involved in our community.
Preet is fluent in Punjabi and speaks Hindi. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, cooking, travelling and spending time with family and friends.
